Whew! This is unbelievable. I have a 1999 Sienna with the sludge problem and I thought I was the only one having to deal with this mess. Thanks to google I found you all. I just got diagnosed on Friday at Seeger Toyota here in St. Louis. I filed a complaint with Toyota. My assigned ID is 2001090500009. Of course I was told it was my fault so I have been running around trying to get my oil change receipts in order from Dobbs and Jiffy Lube. Like an idiot, I thought if I just show them the facts they will fix my problem under warrenty. I am not sure how to proceed exactly at this point but I will go as far as I can in arbitration and make those government phone calls. By the way, I too had the driver side passenger sticky door problem and they told me it was my fault as well. So much for Toyota quality.
